Lawn Sweeper

This refreshing, light-bodied ale is brewed with a touch of corn and rice to provide an enjoyable crisp finish. As warmer days creep in, fleets of lawn sweepers are awakened, finally declaring a brief reprieve from Labrador’s lingering winters.
For those unfamiliar with Labrador winters, they’re long, frigid, and relentless. When spring eventually arrives in the Big Land, few brave flowers emerge to mark the seasons change. However, the people of Labrador have another harbinger of warmer weather, the humble Lawn Sweeper.
As traditional road salting methods are futile in the face of -40°C temperatures, sand is applied throughout the winter to improve traction on roadways. The winter’s accumulation of sand ends up deposited on the property of residents and businesses. Lawn Sweepers emerge en masse in the spring, moving clouds of sand to restore the beauty of local properties and mark the warmer days ahead. After the spring cleaning is complete, many enjoy our crisp Lawn Sweeper Cream Ale to cool down and bask in the spring sun.

A reliable and approachable lager-style ale to enjoy with friends and family for any occasion.
THE STYLE
Cream Ales are a light, inoffensive beer, similar to a pale lager. Brewed to be refreshing, with a pale straw to pale golden colour. Hop and malt flavours are usually subdued, with a light hop aroma remaining. Despite the name, no dairy is used when making a cream ale.
THE HISTORY
Cream Ale originated in America in the mid-1800s, meant to mimic German Lagers. During prohibition in the U.S., many Canadian brewers began brewing the style and refining it. After prohibition, Canadian cream ales gained popularity in the U.S., and now both countries enjoy and make the refined style.
